Well here we are on the last day of the year, the time for reflection and resolutions. It’s been mostly a good year for us, we had the opportunity to visit our families and friends in the UK, albeit briefly and we spent a very pleasant 3 months in West Australia, again catching up with some dear friends. Our sad part has been the saying goodbye to everyone in the USA that bravely decided to befriend the “damned Yankee and Pome turned Ozzies” we hope we have at least provided you all with some amusement over the past 4 years, it is a small world who knows when we will meet up again. On the brighter side we are heading home to our daughter and our dog, both of whom we can’t wait to see again even if it is going to take us a while to get there and we intend to make the most of the cruising experience that is getting us there. Resolutions – not going to be any as they only get broken anyway!
So our day started with having to haul the gen. set up on the block and tackle to get it back into its proper place, this having been achieved Gerry set about putting all the bits back together and test running it – it appears to be working properly again, hallelujah. I have just one concern – there are 2 bolts left over! Now I know all you men knew there would be bits left over but it concerns me as they came off the gen. set to begin with so why didn’t they need to go back on it????? NO THEY WEREN”T JUST DECORATIVE. Whilst Gerry did the gen. set reassembly I cooked up some soup and spaghetti ready for the next overnight trip. To say it took all day is no exaggeration, we didn’t do anything else all day. In the evening we went over to the Tiki Hut grille and had a couple of drinks but as it was getting very rowdy we made our way back to the boat and didn’t even stay up long enough to see the new year in.
